Frequently Asked Questions
This list of questions and my answers represent what I’m asked the most before we start a project with a customer.
Hopefully, they help answer general questions and concerns you have so you can make a decision about whether my company is a good match for both you and us.
If your question is not covered here then please give me a call at 508.529.4500 or complete the contact form here.
What happens if after you’ve done the work I’m disappointed with how it looks?
I will do anything I can to fix the situation. I involve you every step of the way as the project progresses so we catch concerns early on. I use my experience and knowledge of colors and style to suit your home, and to make suggestions to avoid surprises.
What is your warranty on the products you use and work you do?
The Siding has a lifetime warranty and I stand by my workmanship for as long as you own your home.
What is the minimum number of replacement windows you’ll install as a package?
I have a minimum of 5 windows in our starter package. This takes into account the expense of securing the products, and time commitment to the job and my crew.
Do you replace exterior facing doors as well?
Yes, I install Therma-Tru doors. Therma-Tru makes top quality doors whether you’re looking for an elegant entry door or stylish hinged or sliding patio doors. Therma-Tru doors are fiberglass and outperform wood and steel. They are energy efficient and great for cold New England winters and hot humid summers.
When you install a new roof do you just install over existing shingles?
I will make an onsite assessment to determine the state of the existing roof but 95% of the time we strip off the old shingles so we can replace rotten wood.
How far will you travel for a project?
I use Metrowest Boston as my base and accept projects one hour in all directions from that area. This covers all of Central and most of Eastern Massachusetts and parts of Rhode Island. If you’re outside this range but have a large project contact me directly so we can discuss.
How quickly can you begin my project?
This is one of those “depends” answers – I know I hate them as well – and in many respects it depends on the economy, but usually we can get to most jobs within a month of agreement to proceed.
Do you perform exterior work in the winter?
Yes we work through the New England winter. We are hardy folks. We will leave more room for expansion when it gets hot so your finished product in the winter will work just as well for you during the hot summer months.
Do you visit the site during the project to keep an eye on things?
I’m on site every day. When you hire East Coast Siding to do your work you get me and my reputation is on the line for every job – so I’m there!
Do you pull all the permits to do the work?
Each project is different and some don’t require permits but we are familiar with different towns and their codes, so we work with the homeowner to get all the proper permits pulled.
Do you have maintenance services?
For siding we recommend regular power washing to keep it looking fresh and providing the protection you purchased it for, and yes, we do offer this as an extra paying service.
Is clean-up included in your quote?
Yes, clean up is always included. To me clean-up is one of the most important parts of the job. The project is not finished until we leave the property cleaner than when we started – and all my employees know my expectations in this area.
